1 Day • Navigation and Horseback Ride to Torres del
Paine |
|
At 08:00 in the morning we take the 21 de Mayo boat from
Puerto Natales through the Última Esperanza Fjord.
During this voyage, we enjoy the beauty of the fjords
and observe colonies of cormorants, sea lions, and condors.
After three hours, we arrive to Glacier Balmaceda, which
extends from the summit of Mount Balmaceda to the sea.
Here we have some time to enjoy the panoramic views from
the boat. About 20 minutes later, we arrive to Port Toro,
gateway to Bernardo O'Higgins National Park Patagonia.
Here we walk to the lookout point of Glacier Serrano,
where with any luck, we will see blocks of ice calving
into the lagoon below.
After lunch at Hostería Monte Balmaceda, you receive
new waterproof jackets and life vests to enjoy the next
adventure, warm and dry. We board semi-rigid boats and
sail the Serrano River (upstream for about 45 minutes).
We reach the lookout point of Glacier Tyndall, located
in the middle of one of the wildest areas of Patagonia.
Here the baqueanos will be waiting for us with our horses
to begin riding along the Serrano River for about 3-4
hours. This ride traverses non-conventional trails with
abundant weeds and bushes, and we have to cross rivers.
The ubiquitous Paine Massif stands guard in front of us
for the entire ride.
We arrive to the Serrano Sector around 17:30, where a
minibus will be waiting for us to take us to Torres del
Paine National Park Administration. This tour is one of
the best ways to travel and enter Torres del Paine.
