If you plan to complete the W Trek or the
Full Circuit around the Paine Massif using only campsites,
you should know that there are both free and pay-for campsites.
The cost for the pay-for campsites is between $5.500 -9.000
CLP per person. Advance reservations are not required.
The free campsites are
the responsibility of the National Park Administration. They
have sanitary facilities, but it is not guaranteed that they
will be functioning properly.
The free campsites are:
Camping Italiano, Británico, Los Guardas, Paso, Pingo,
Zapata, Las Carretas and Torres. (Please see their locations
on the map.)

If you don’t want to walk with a lot of weight
and do not wish to carry equipment between campsites, it is
possible to rent equipment from the privately owned, pay-for
campsites, but rental costs in the Park are much higher, and
reserving the equipment also carries and additional cost.
