Navigating
the Serrano River, we begin by exploring Torres
del Paine National Park’s southern sector. We
soon arrive to a typical Patagonian ranch, known
as an estancia, where we mount our horses. This
unique ride takes us to the untamed Geikie glacier.
Away from the bustle of tourist groups, this
place is a hidden gem. The lake here has the
largest concentration and highest icebergs in
the region, and you can walk alongside them
on foot or on horseback. It is an excellent
excursion for passengers with little time, and
who are lodging in Torres del Paine.

This
excursion provides an excellent combination of
activities to be able to visit two national parks
in one day. Starting from Última Esperanza
Fjord, we navigate towards Bernardo O'Higgins
National Park, visiting the Balmaceda and Serrano
Glaciers on the way. We continue on exploring
the Serrano River by zodiac, and finally we ride
into Torres del Paine National Park. Without a
doubt, this is one of the best ways to enter Torres
del Paine Patagonia.

This is an excellent
half-day ride to the best viewpoint in all of
Puerto Natales. We learn a little about the
history of the city, while observing it from
above, with a 360º panorama of the surrounding
geography. At the top of the hill, we can also
appreciate the majestic condor, which nests
in the vertical walls of Cerro Dorotea. A condor
nearly always flies right above us to ensure
that we aren’t potential food. These flights
are perfect, thanks to the wind, which hits
the vertical walls of the hill and allows the
condors to achieve an ideal support to be able
to get within only a few meters of the horses.
